Welcome to the thread for Smooth as Silke.
Mia has moved back to her hometown, Sunset Valley. Unbeknownst to our heroine, she will be the founder of a soon to be long and glorious legacy. But right now, it's just Mia, and her story as the most helpful detective in the Valley! Join her on adventures and watch her family tree grow.
June 16th - Hey hey hey.
Chapter 4 is finally up. I know I promised it Monday, but... what can I say? I'm slow. This one is just wrapping up Connor and Mia's Madison debacle with a sweet ending, so it's pretty short. Enjoy! <3
Next post will be a new comic! Let's hope this one is better than the last.
Also, make sure to check out the Bio and Family Tree pages to see the new additions.
And lastly, stick around for information on the next Chat 'n' Art giveaway on TheSims3.com forums. This one will probably be held earlier in the day so more people can participate. Don't miss out on a crest for your Legacy!!
Thank you to everyone who reads, chats and posts comments! ilu. <3

This is the Silke Family Tree. Yes, it is quite small right now. But soon it will flourish! Keep an eye on it. :3

I know I've said this before - I may or may not have gushed like crazy on your blog - but I absolutely love this. It's hilarious and fun and I just love it. I can't wait to see her legacy evolve <3

UPDATE: I fixed the links! Apparently, this forum has issues when quotes are used in the url code. Snickity forum...
Oh no the links! Thank you for alerting me to this, angelica! = n= Hmm... *goes to fix*

RE: links... yeah... I've noticed that. I'm rooting to get a member who can help me with coding at some point, but until then I have no idea if that's something to be fixed. And <3 I'm working on more as we speak (actually, I'm building sets, but same difference. Most of Stolen? Filmed in a basement, oh yeah.) but I gotta sleep soon so I'll do more tomorrow ETA: Also? I adore your art. Not sure if I've said this (and if I have I'm not sure I've said it ENOUGH). Really. It's gorgeous.

So you do all the shots on 'sets'? How is this done? = 3= I am not very savvy with all the new-fangled downloads and mods and things. So... I know there are mods for the poses. But, are you just setting them up like actors? Explain. :0 I must know. Maybe there should be a thread to teach? Or... something.

Not all the shots are done on sets. I moved Ella and Ava, Ella's (unrelated) parents and Alison and Jay into a house, which is Ella's house "set". So that's genuine (although I ended up building a wardrobe on for the last chapter). Then, I have things like the park: that's done at a park using ctrl+shift+click and "buy on this lot". I also use ctrl+shift+click "teleport me here" a LOT. The restaurant was done by making a new savegame, moving Ava and Alison out and into a restaurant lot along with a male adult sim (Alison's dad), then I took a bunch of shots and went back to my old save. Then, I have a basement, which is what I'm using for the "school" location. I've just built a basement, added a "fake" wall, which I can put windows into, put a blue background on the outside and bam! It looks vaguely like the outside world Mods for poses... God, I love these. I use a lot of poses downloaded from MTS but some of them I make myself. It's so incredibly simple to make them these days and that makes my story so much easier to tell! A lot of the times I just use a combination of base interactions + moveobjects on, but for things like Ava stood in the doorway I use poses. I'm gonna upload a collection of "Stolen" poses to here eventually. I have... 5 so far. Oh, and my absolute favourite cheat? hideheadlineeffects on/off. Hides the annoying plumbbob and thought bubbles </rambling> (Pssssssst: Chapter 4 is up.)

My eyes have been opened! lol I think I will try some of this out. I do like just letting my Sims be random, but this will be better for variety.
Thank you for the tips!!

Haha. That's how I always did it on Sims 2. It was easier on Sims 2 in some ways, tho, because everything was a set. Backalleys, streets... Everything, because they couldn't go out and about. Thing is that you've got random - like a legacy - but then you've got staged and scripted like mine, where I'm telling a pre-determined story for funzies. So...yeah. It depends on what you're doing.

The way she blurted out, “Yes, I’d love that”, made me laugh out loud! I can’t wait till the next update. The characters in your legacy are so interesting. I already care about them!

Thank you 11daisies! n_n I am glad you're reading~ and that you like the characters. It's so hard to make characters people can relate to.
